RESOLUTION 2010 - 86R <br />• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE ALLOCATION OF 2010 <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING; <br />SETTING CITY PRIORITIES FOR THE USE OF CDBG FUNDING FOR <br />THE 2010 -2014 CONSOLIDATED PLAN; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO ACT AS THE OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE <br />CITY IN MATTERS RELATED TO THE CDBG PROGRAM AND <br />ACTION PLAN AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City has received notice from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development (HUD) that entitlement funding has been approved under the Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for specific authorized programs for fiscal year <br />2010 in the amount of $575,181.00. <br />2. The City conducted a public hearing on May 4, 2010 to solicit extensive citizen <br />participation and comments on the use of HUD CDBG entitlement funds. In addition, the City <br />Council provided direction to staff regarding the distribution of the allocation. <br />• 3. The City has received seven applications for CDBG funding and, on May 18, <br />2010 reviewed the applications. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The following allocation of 2010 CDBG funding in the total amount of <br />$575,181.00 is approved: <br />CDBG Allocation Description <br />Amount <br />Southside Community Center (home -owned occupied rehab) $ 110,000 <br />Community Services -Parks (Durham Park) $ 173,320 <br />Development Services (First Time Homebuyers Program) $ 110,861 <br />Development Services (Program Administration $ 100,000 <br />Community Action (Senior Center expansion $ 46,000 <br />Community Action (Parkingg/Driveway improvements $ 35,000 <br />TOTAL: <br />$ 575,181.00 <br />PART 2.
