Question and Answer session with press and public. <br />Andy Sevilla, Newstreamz.com, asked if this year's budget would end in a surplus or <br />deficit. The response was that we expect to end the year $1.3 million in revenue over <br />expenses. Mr. Sevilla asked if transportation is considered in the budget and how we <br />work with the county. The response was that we budget for annual road maintenance and <br />we also issue bonds. We also work with the county to set priorities for their bond <br />elections. The City is responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads in the <br />city limits, and the county is responsible for the roads outside the city. It was noted that <br />some projects overlap like McCarty Road. <br />6. Adjournment. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Guerrero and a second by <br />Councilmember Jones, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to <br />adjourn the special session of the San Marcos City Council at 8:52 p.m. on Thursday, <br />August 7, 2008.
