Rob Roark, 1804A Hunter, asked the Council to please listen to the people regarding item #23. <br />He expressed his appreciation for the Mayor's openness and honesty. He stated that the Council <br />is elected by the people to oversee and make value -based judgments with little or no <br />compensation. However, we the people know it is a privilege and honor and ask for <br />transparency and good stewardship. Therefore, he requested that the process for the new City <br />Manager be as open and transparent, with perhaps a Citizen Panel participating. <br />9. Staff Progress Reports <br />A. Downtown Farmers' Market update by Rodney Cobb, Director of Community <br />Services <br />Rodney Cobb, Director of Community Services, presented a video about the Farmers' Market. It <br />is entering its seventh week and is a popular community meeting place and a source of fresh <br />local produce. To date, they have showcased ten local musical acts. They are committed to the <br />downtown location through the growing season. Goals include: 1) make a viable market; 2) <br />keep costs low to the participants; 3) increase the size and number of participants; and 4) plan to <br />kick off the market in conjunction with Texas Natural. They plan to end in conjunction with <br />another special event downtown. They have had several special events, such as the tomato fest- <br />salsa competition, bike day, and the used book swap and poetry meet. Market costs include paid <br />ads in local papers, assisting with the sound system for musical acts, overtime to close and open <br />the street, and flyer costs. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />• <br />10. Consider adoption on second and final reading of Ordinance 2010 -33, changing the <br />name of a portion of East McCarty lane, from its intersection with Old Bastrop Highway <br />(CR 266) to its current terminus point at the City limit line (2600 block of East McCarty <br />Lane), to "Rattler Road "; and including procedural provisions <br />12. Consider adoption of Resolution 2010 -98R, approving a first addendum to an <br />agreement authorizing use of airport property for operation of a business with Compliance <br />Aviation, Inc. d /b /a Blue Skies Aviation; and declaring an effective date <br />13. Consider adoption of Resolution 2010 -99R, approving an agreement between the City <br />and Lockwood, Andrews and Newnam, Inc. in a not to exceed amount of $127,050.00 for <br />the provision of waterline easement acquisition services in connection with the 24" water <br />main, Spring Lake to Comanche Proiect; authorizing the Acting City Manager to execute - <br />this agreement on behalf of the City and de claring an effective date. <br />RM070610 Minutes Page 4 <br />
