OFFICE MEMORANDUM

.D:

George W. Boeker, Acting Direct'or of Public Works

FROM: Joe C. Garza, City Planner

SUBJECT: Texas Department of Public Safety Building on IH 35 North

DATE: September 1, 1981 RE:

I have reviewed your request regarding the Texas Department
of Public Safety Building to be located on City property on
IH 35 North.

My comments are as follows:

The property is zoned "C" Commercial District. This
district allows for permitted activites under the Public
Use District ("P-i" Governmental), which the proposed use
would be classified under. In other words the proposed
facility is allowable in COmmercial Zoned Districts.

am

e

That the property be properly platted according to the
current Interim Subdivision Ordinance and,

As a planning request that consideration be given to
providing for satellite car pool parking within the site.
The security of having DPS on the same site would
enhance the use of this area for satellite parking.

Joe C. Garza
City Planner
