0 RESOLUTION NO. 2008-134R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS FINANCE AND AUDIT <br />COMMITTEE IN PLACE OF THE AUDIT <br />COMMMTTTE PREVIOUSLY ESTABLISHED BY <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007-191R; SETTING FORTH THE <br />COMPOSITION AND DUTIES OF THE COMMITTEE; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS <br />1. An Audit Committee was established on October 16, 2007 by the adoption of <br />Resolution No. 2007-191R. <br />2. The San Marcos City Council deems it advisable to expand the role of the Audit <br />Committee to include additional duties and functions to promote a better <br />understanding of the City's financial condition and the facilitate the budget <br />development process. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The San Marcos City Council hereby establishes a Finance and Audit <br />• <br />Committee in place of the Audit Committee previously established. The Mayor, Mayor <br />Pro-Tem, Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem or another member of the City Council if there is no <br />Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem, the City Manager, and Finance Director shall be voting <br />members of the Finance and Audit Committee. The Assistant City Manager For <br />Community Services shall serve as a non voting member. <br />PART 2. The Finance and Audit Committee shall provide oversight in matters pertaining <br />to the finances of the City of San Marcos, Texas including but not limited to the budget <br />development process, design and implementation of utility rates, and review of financial <br />policies. <br />This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage. <br />Mayor <br />Attest: <br />Sh Mashburn <br />• <br />ADOPTED on the 6th day of October, 008. <br />Pus n Narvaiz
