• RESOLUTION 2008 -146 R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT <br />APPLICATION TO THE LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY <br />FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT FUNDING FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF SAFETY EQUIPMENT FOR THE CITY'S PARK <br />RANGERS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE <br />CITY'S BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE SUBMISSION OF THIS <br />GRANT APPLICATION AND THE EXECUTION OF ANY AGREEMENT <br />RELATED TO THIS GRANT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City submitted a grant application to the Lower Colorado River Authority <br />(the "LCRA") through its Community Development Grant Program for the purchase of safety <br />related equipment for the City's Park Rangers. <br />2. It is anticipated that the City will receive $4,000.00 in matching funds for these <br />purchases from the San Marcos Lions Club. <br />• BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The submission of an application to the LCRA requesting grant funding <br />through its Community Development Grant Program in the amount of $11,430.00 for the <br />purchase of safety related equipment for the City's Park Rangers is ratified. <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Rick Menchaca, is authorized to act on the City's <br />behalf with regard to the submission of this grant application and the execution of any agreement <br />related to this grant. <br />PART 3.
