<br />148. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2004 --1J4~ R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS RATIFYING THE FILING OF A GRANT APPLICATION WITH THE <br />BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE FOR A LOCAL LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT; APPROVING A GRANT CONTRACT <br />AWARD WITH THE BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE FOR A LOCAL <br />LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT; APPROVING THE <br />CONTRIBUTION OF MATCHING FUNDS BY THE CITY AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL GRANT <br />RELATED DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City applied for grant assistance from the Bureau of Justice Assistance <br />("BJA") for FY 2004 for the Police Department. <br /> <br />2. The City has received notification that the BJA has approved a Local Law <br />Enforcement Block Grant ("LLEBG") to the City for FY 2004. <br /> <br />3. The City wishes to accept the grant award from the BJA in the amount of <br />$11,067.00 for the Police Department. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the City's submission through its Police Department of a LLEBG <br />grant application for FY 2004 to the BJA is ratified. <br /> <br />PART 2. <br />accepted. <br /> <br />The attached BJA FY 2004 LLEBG documents are approved and <br /> <br />PART 3. <br /> <br />The City's match of $1,161.00 in local funds for this grant is approved. <br /> <br />PART 4. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary is authodzed to execute all LLEBG <br />grant related documents for this grant on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 5. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and <br />after its passage. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this the 9th <br /> <br />day of August <br /> <br />, 2004. <br />
