Section 12.13 of the City Charter provides that the City Council "shall have the power, by ordinance, to renumber, rearrange and make non-substantive corrections to all articles, sections, and paragraphs of this Charter". 2. The 2003-04 Charter Review Commission, in its report to the City Council, recommended non-substantive amendments to Sections 3.01, 7.04,10.01, 10.07 and 12.01 ofthe Charter. 3. The City Council wishes to make the non-substantive changes to the City Charter recommended by the Charter Review Commission. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 3.01 of the City Charter is amended as follows (underlining indicates added language; ovcrstrike indicates deleted language): Sec. 3.01. Number, selection and term. .@2 The legislative and governing body of the city shall consist of seven council members and shall be known as the "City Council of San Marcos". (12 a) The members of the city council shall be elected from the city at large, and each council member shall be elected to occupy a place on the council, such places being numbered and designated 1,2,3,4,5,6 and mayor. (f b) Each council member for places 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 shall hold office for a period of three years, staggered so that two members shall be elected to a regular tenn each year. The council member elected to the place of mayor shall hold office for a period of two years. SECTION 2. Section 7.04 of the City Charter is amended as follows (underlining indicates added language; overstrike indicates deleted language): Sec. 7.04. Organization. -1-
