• RESOLUTION 2008-15OR <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY <br />AND HAYS COUNTY FOR THE CITY'S PROVISION OF PUBLIC <br />LIBRARY SERVICES TO HAYS COUNTY RESIDENTS; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE <br />CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. Hays County (the "County") has proposed $78,226.00 in funding in return for the <br />City's provision of public library services under the terms and conditions of the attached contract <br />between the County and the City (the "Contract"). <br />2. The Contract allows residents of the County who reside outside of the City limits <br />to utilize the services of the San Marcos Public Library on the same basis as residents of the City. <br />3. The City Council wishes to approve the Contract in order to secure funding from <br />the County for the City's provision of public library services to County residents. <br />is BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The attached Contract for the City's provision of public library services to <br />County residents who reside outside the City limits is approved. <br />PART 2. This contract is entered into pursuant to the Interlocal Cooperation Act, <br />Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, as amended. <br />PART 3. The City Manager, Rick Menchaca, is authorized to execute the contract <br />on behalf of the City. <br />PART 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and <br />after its passage. <br />ADOPTED this the 3rd day of November, 2008. <br />Susan Narvaiz <br />Mayor <br />• 1
