RESOLUTION 2008 -153 R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT <br />APPLICATION TO THE EMMETT AND MIRIAM MCCOY <br />FOUNDATION FOR SUPPORT OF THE CITY NATURE CENTER <br />ENHANCEMENT PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE <br />SUBMISSION OF THIS GRANT APPLICATION AND THE EXECUTION <br />OF ANY AGREEMENT RELATED TO THIS GRANT; AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City wishes to request grant funding from the Emmett and Miriam McCoy <br />Foundation for the City's use in connection with the Nature Center Enhancement Project. <br />2. Grant funding received from the Emmett and Miriam McCoy Foundation will be <br />used to purchase equipment to allow the City to safely and efficiently maintain and improve the <br />grounds of the Nature Center. <br />3. The total project cost is estimated to be $34,825.00, and the City understands that <br />it is responsible for approximately $7,170.00 of these project costs. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. Submission of an application to the Emmett and Miriam McCoy <br />Foundation for a request for grant funding in the amount of $15,155.00 for the City's use in <br />connection with the Nature Center Enhancement Proj ect is approved. <br />PART 2. The City's expenditure of approximately $7,170.00 of the total project <br />costs is approved. <br />PART 3. The City Manager, Rick Menchaca, is authorized to act on the City's <br />behalf with regard to the submission of this grant application and the execution of any agreement <br />related to this grant. <br />PART 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and <br />after its passage. <br />ADOPTED this the 3rd day of November, 2008.
