• RESOLUTION 2008 -158R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S EXPENDITURE OF <br />$33,334.00 IN LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS IN CONNECTION WITH ITS <br />RECEIPT OF FISCAL YEAR 2008 FAA DISCRETIONARY FUNDING <br />FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE <br />NORTH SIDE DEVELOPMENT PAVEMENT PROJECT AT THE SAN <br />MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME, <br />ALL CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS, <br />REPRESENTED BY THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />AND SUCH OTHER PARTIES AS NECESSARY AND APPROPRIATE FOR <br />THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THESE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SAN <br />MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City of San Marcos (the "City") intends to make certain improvements to the San <br />Marcos Municipal Airport, the general description of which is the North Side Development <br />Pavement Project (the "Project"). <br />2. The estimated cost for the Project is $333,334.00; the City has requested financial <br />assistance from the Texas Department of Transportation and has been notified that it is eligible to <br />receive $300,000.00 in Fiscal Year 2008 FAA Discretionary Funding for these improvements. <br />3. The City has available and will be responsible for 10% of the total project costs <br />currently estimated to be $33,334.00. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City's expenditure of approximately $33,334.00 in matching funds for this <br />Project is approved. <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Rick Menchaca, is authorized to execute on behalf of the City, <br />at the appropriate time, all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas, represented by the <br />Texas Department of Transportation and such other parties as necessary and appropriate for the <br />implementation of these improvements to the San Marcos Municipal Airport <br />PART 3. The City Council names the Texas Department of Transportation as its agent for <br />the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements and for the <br />• 1
