• ORDINANCE NO. 2008-61 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, <br />ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE 3, SECTION 2.369 TO REVISE <br />THE COMPOSITION OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />BOARD; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The Economic Development Board (the "Board"), established by City Code Section <br />2.369, provides coordination and oversight for the City's econoomic development <br />activities.oversees the tourism promotional activities of the San Marcos Area Chamber of <br />Commerce, which are funded with City hotel occupancy taxes. <br />2. The Council met recently and discussed changes to the composition of the Board and <br />directed staff to prepare an ordinance revision. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. Section 2.369 of the City Code is amended as follows (underlining indicates <br />added text; a trike indicates deleted text): <br />DIVISION 19. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD <br />• <br />Sec. 2.369. Created; composition; terms; officers. <br />(a) The economic development board is created, composed of eleven thirteen voting <br />members appointed by the city council, and one non-voting member, as follows: <br />No. of <br />a ts. Position/Representing <br />1 Mayor (ex officio voting member) <br />1 Hays County (designated by Commissioners Court and confirmed by <br />Council) (contingent on Count contribution to funding) <br />1 San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce President (ex officio non-voting <br />member <br />-2-1 CEO or senior management staff member of large company (100+ <br />employees) in the City <br />2 CEO or senior management. staff member of financial institution in the City <br />-21 CEO or senior management staff member of manufacturing firm in the City
