1.2.8 Develop preliminary horizontal alignment.
1.2.9 Develop preliminary vertical alignment.
1.2. 10 Develop preliminary intersection layouts.
1.2.11 Develop preliminary bridge configuration and bridge alternatives.
1.2.12 Develop a proposed H&H model to evaluate impacts of the proposed bridge
configurations in regards to FEMA criteria. The Engineer believes Sink Creek is in a FEMA
Zone AE.
1.2.13 Attend coordination meeting with the City to review alternatives and select the preferred
alignment.
1.2.14 Modify the horizontal and vertical alignments based on City input. The Engineer will
develop final cross sections to confirm ROW requirements and produce earthwork quantities.
1.2.15 Prepare the alignment exhibit for the preferred alignment. This exhibit will, at a
minimum, contain:
a) Typical roadway cross sections;
b) Geometric alignment data for the preferred alternative;
c) Vertical Profile for the preferred alternative;
d) ROW requirements;
e) Design criteria (Design Speed, Roadway Classification, etc.);
f) Earthwork and assumed pavement quantities and pricing data indicating month and
year of final opinion of cost as well as square foot quantities and allowance for other
items;
g) H&H data for the Sink Creek bridge crossing; and
h) Bridge location.
1.2.16 Prepare an opinion of cost. The Engineer will base the opinion of cost on earthwork and
assumed pavement quantities, square foot quantities and an allowance the Engineer will develop
for remaining items. The Engineer will utilize the latest unit price data published by TxDOT and
current construction pricing trends in the market place in evaluating the costs.
1.2.17 Attend a final City review meeting;
1.2.18 Prepare a final alignment exhibit for submission to the City.
1.2.19 Conduct quality control reviews for the preferred alignment study, final schematic exhibit
production, opinion of cost, bridge configuration studies, and for the H&H modeling.
