Staff was directed to contact a firm (to be named at the next Council meeting) to manage the <br />recruitment process for the City Manager and City Clerk positions. The City Manager's Office <br />was directed to assist in the placement of an Interim City Clerk. <br />4. Question and answer session with press and public. <br />Andy Sevila asked who was the firm selected? Mayor Narvaiz answered that the firm has not <br />been notified of their selection yet and will be named at the next Council meeting; seven <br />proposals were received from local, regional and out-of-state firms. The firm will recruit for <br />both positions. <br />Jaime Kilpatrick asked about the contract. Mayor Narvaiz said the proposal included pricing. <br />Griffin Spell asked for clarification regarding if the Council was going with a firm in lieu of a <br />citizen search committee. Mayor Narvaiz explained that the firm will create the process which <br />will include citizen input. <br />5. Adjournment <br />MOTION: Upon a motion by Councilmember Terry and seconded by Councilmember <br />Thomiades, the City Council voted six (6) for and none (o) opposed, to adjourn the special <br />session of the San Marcos City Council at 6:29 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010.
