<br /> <br /> <br />55. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2002- 8 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING ELECTION <br />PRECINCT BOUNDARIES AND POLLING PLACES FOR CITY <br />ELECTIONS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />RECIT ALS: <br /> <br />1. The City Council has previously established voting precinct boundaries for City elections <br />that conform to the voting precinct boundaries established by the Hays County Commissioners Court <br />for Hays County, in which most of the qualified voters of the City reside, to maximize election <br />efficiency and voter understanding and participation. <br /> <br />2. The Hays County Commissioners Court recently approved revised voting precinct <br />boundaries on the basis of information resulting from the 2000 Federal Census. <br /> <br />3. The City Council recently completed the annexation of four areas: Majestic Estates, Galisteo <br />Ranch, Southwest San Marcos and McCarty-Centerpoint. <br /> <br />4. The City Council wishes to establish revised voting precinct boundaries for City elections <br />to conform to the revised voting precinct boundaries approved by the Hays County Commissioners <br />Court for Hays County, and to incorporate the recently annexed areas into City voting precincts. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The voting precinct boundaries for the City of San Marcos are established for <br />areas within the city limits of the City of San Marcos as shown on the attached map. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. The following polling places for City elections are established to correspond to <br />the voting precincts established under Section 1 of this ordinance: <br /> <br />PRECINCT No. POLLING PLACE LOCATION <br />111 Dunbar Center <br /> 801 Martin Luther King Drive <br />112 Guadalupe Hall <br /> Comer of Churchill and Roosevelt <br />113 Hays County Election Administrator's Office <br /> 40 1-C Broadway <br />114 San Marcos City Hall <br /> 630 E. Hopkins <br />116/314 (combined) Maria Hernandez Middle School <br /> 333 Stagecoach Trail <br />120 C. M. Allen Homes Office <br /> Off 801 River Road at Comer of Sturgeon and <br /> Bliss <br /> <br />-1- <br />
