Consider an ordinance amending the traffic register maintained under Section 82.067 <br />of the San Marcos Citv Code by amending the speed limits, including the addition of a <br />school zone speed limit, along certain sections of F.M. 621 (Staples Highway) both <br />directions between the citv limit line and SH 123; eliminating the school zone for the <br />former Bowie Elementarv School; providing a savings clause; providing that all conflicting <br />ordinances are repealed; and consider ordinance on first of two readings. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by Councilmember <br />Bose, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to approve the ordinance on the <br />• first of two readings. Discussion on the structuring, membership and functions of a Veterans' Affairs <br />Committee, and provide direction to staff. <br />Rodney Cobb, Director of Community Services, provided a list of Veteran's organizations and <br />requested direction from Council in the development of this committee. He noted that this <br />committee would report to the Parks Advisory Board. <br />35.
