ARTICLE 5. MECHANICAL CODE <br />Section 14.076. Amendments. <br />The 2009 International Mechanical Code adopted by section 14.002 is amended as follows: <br />Section 103 is deleted. <br />Section 104.7 is deleted <br />Section 109 is deleted. <br />Section 101.2 is amended to read: <br />101.2 all buildings in the city or adoption area will be regulated by this code. The only exception <br />is one and two family and multiple dwellings not more than 3 stories. The R1 — R 4 along with <br />all II — 13 are covered under this code. <br />Section 202 General Definitions is amended to add: <br />202 "Residential Cooking Equipment ". This is cooking or food heating equipment used and <br />designed primarily for residential use. The intended use of residential cooking equipment in a <br />commercial setting shall be approved by the Building Official. It shall require the same <br />protection given to commercial cooking and food heating equipment. <br />Section 604.1 is amended to read as follows: <br />604.1. General. Duct insulation shall conform to the requirements of Sections 604.2 through <br />604.13 and the International Energy Conservation Code. However, in no case will the minimum <br />duct insulation value be less than R6. <br />Appendix B is deleted. <br />Section 14.077. Permits. <br />(a) A person applying for a mechanical permit shall be: <br />(1) A licensed air conditioning and refrigeration contractor under state law; or <br />(2) Exempt under state law from the licensing requirement. <br />(b) A state licensed air conditioning and refrigeration contractor shall register with the city once <br />a year and show proof of the license before any work is performed within the city. <br />
