In accordance with the Texas Government Code §551.074- Personnel Matters -, the San Marcos <br />City Council convened into Executive Session at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in <br />order to continue discussing matters pertaining to: <br />A. Deliberation regarding City Manager and City Clerk vacancies <br />The Executive Session adjourned at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. <br />5. Reconvene and Consider Action on Item Discussed During Executive Session. <br />The San Marcos City Council reconvened into regular session at 6:51 p.m. on Tuesday, <br />September 7, 2010. The City Council provided directions regarding City Manager and City <br />Clerk vacancies. <br />6. Invocation <br />Pastor Michael Dobbs with El Buen Pastor Methodist Church, provided the invocation. <br />7. Pledge of Allegiance <br />Councilmember Jones led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />8. Citizen Comments <br />• Steve Bibby — San Marcos, spoke regarding the Heritage Drainage Project. He <br />encouraged the City Council to notify him if the records of this project are accurate. <br />• Thea Dake — San Marcos, spoke regarding the schedule for hiring the new City <br />Manager. <br />• Sherri Bilson — San Marcos, spoke regarding the schedule of the Board and <br />Commission appointments. <br />• Polly A. Wright — San Marcos, spoke regarding the schedule for hiring the new City <br />Manager. She also spoke in opposition of the utility rate increase. <br />9. Consider adoption of Resolution 2010 -128R, approving a San Marcos Community <br />Brand and declaring an effective date. <br />Pam Couch, Chair of Branding Task Force, provided a Power -Point presentation. The Task <br />Force unveiled the Branding "San Marcos We'd love your company ". <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Porterfield and a second by <br />Councilmember Terry. MOTION TO AMEND: Upon a motion made by Councilmember <br />Jones and a second Councilmember Thomaides, the City Council voted six (6) for and one (1) <br />opposed, Mr. Terry voting against, to amendment to have an effective date September 21, 2010. <br />
