In accordance with the Texas Government Code §551.074- Personnel Matters -, the San Marcos City Council convened into Executive Session at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in order to continue discussing matters pertaining to: A. Deliberation regarding City Manager and City Clerk vacancies The Executive Session adjourned at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. 5. Reconvene and Consider Action on Item Discussed During Executive Session. The San Marcos City Council reconvened into regular session at 6:51 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. The City Council provided directions regarding City Manager and City Clerk vacancies. 6. Invocation Pastor Michael Dobbs with El Buen Pastor Methodist Church, provided the invocation. 7. Pledge of Allegiance Councilmember Jones led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. 8. Citizen Comments • Steve Bibby — San Marcos, spoke regarding the Heritage Drainage Project. He encouraged the City Council to notify him if the records of this project are accurate. • Thea Dake — San Marcos, spoke regarding the schedule for hiring the new City Manager. • Sherri Bilson — San Marcos, spoke regarding the schedule of the Board and Commission appointments. • Polly A. Wright — San Marcos, spoke regarding the schedule for hiring the new City Manager. She also spoke in opposition of the utility rate increase. 9. Consider adoption of Resolution 2010 -128R, approving a San Marcos Community Brand and declaring an effective date. Pam Couch, Chair of Branding Task Force, provided a Power -Point presentation. The Task Force unveiled the Branding "San Marcos We'd love your company ". MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Porterfield and a second by Councilmember Terry. MOTION TO AMEND: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second Councilmember Thomaides, the City Council voted six (6) for and one (1) opposed, Mr. Terry voting against, to amendment to have an effective date September 21, 2010.
