• RESOLUTION 2010 -174R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION FOR A PRESERVATION TRUST FUND GRANT FOR ARCHEOLOGICAL RESEARCH AND INTERPRETIVE SIGNAGE ALONG THE SAN MARCOS RIVER CORRIDOR; CERTIFYING THAT THE CITY WILL MATCH THE GRANT FUNDING WITH IN HIND PROJECTS ON A 1:1 BASIS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE SUBMISSION OF THIS GRANT APPLICATION AND THE EXECUTION OF THE GRANT AGREEMENT AND ALL OTHER DOCUMENTS WITH THE TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. The City wishes to submit a grant application to the Texas Historical Commission for a Texas Preservation Trust Fund Fiscal Year 2010 Grant (the "Grant ") Program. • 2. This Grant Program will enable the City to perform the necessary archeological g Y P rY g research for each City park along the San Marcos River Corridor as well as to ultimately produce interpretive signage along the San Marcos River trail. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The submission of an application for Texas Historical Commission Grant funding for archeological research and interpretive signage along the San Marcos River Corridor is approved. PART 2. The City certifies that it will match grant funding with in -kind projects on a 1:1 basis not to exceed a total in -kind contribution of $30,000.00. PART 3. The City Manager is authorized to act on the City's behalf with regard to the submission of this grant application and the execution of the grant agreement and all other documents with the Texas Historical Commission related to this Grant Program. PART 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its passage. • 1 of 2
