<br />The Engineer will perform a technical review of the plans and specifications for the Project <br />prepared by the Design Engineer. The Engineer will make written recommendations to the <br />City and the Design Engineer on revisions to the plans and specifications prior to <br />finalization. <br /> <br />1.3 TASK 2 - BID AND AWARD ASSISTANCE <br /> <br />The Engineer will: <br /> <br />1.3.1 Assist the City in the distribution of the bid documents to prospective bidders and <br />to plan rooms and the issuance of addenda (if any) following City's prior approval. <br /> <br />1.3.2 Assist the City in obtaining bids, tabulating bids, preparing bid tabulation forms, and <br />in awarding the contract for construction following the City's approval of the construction <br />contract documents and of the latest detailed final cost estimate of the Project. <br /> <br />1.3.3 Assist the City in reviewing the Statement of Bidder's Qualifications, financial <br />statements of bidders, lists of bidders' proposed subcontractors, and all other documents <br />required to be submitted with the bids. <br /> <br />1.3.4 Make a written recommendation to the City regarding award of bid; and assist the <br />City in conducting a pre-bid conference and answer all questions of prospective or potential <br />bidders and City's staff and make all necessary clarifications and interpretations of the <br />construction contract documents. <br /> <br />1.3.5 Have no authority to issue a Notice to Proceed to any contractor. <br /> <br />TASK 3 - CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES <br /> <br />The Engineer will: <br /> <br />Construction Administration <br /> <br />1.4.6 Perform regular coordination with the Design Engineer, contractor, testing lab, City <br />staff and others. <br /> <br />1.4.7 Review submittals, payment applications, schedules and other project <br />correspondence. <br /> <br />1.4.8 Prepare letters, permits and other correspondence relating to the Project. <br /> <br />1.4.9 Attend meetings with regulatory agencies, utilities and landowners regarding the <br />Project. <br /> <br />2 <br />
