include, but may not be limited to, moisture contents, unit dry weights, Atterberg <br />Limits, proctors, California Bearing Ratio ( "CBR ") tests, compressive strength tests, <br />triaxial compression shear tests, direct shear tests and grain -size analyses. <br />1.2.3 Deliverables. As part of this Task 1.2, deliver to the City: <br />1) Four (4) copies of the preliminary design schematic and four (4) copies of the final <br />schematic and one (1) electronic copy on CD/DVD in PDF format. The Engineer <br />will provide hard copies of the schematic in color roll plot format. <br />2) A preliminary construction cost estimate. <br />3) Fly through animation for three dimensional design /aesthetic options. <br />4) A geotechnical engineering report, which details the results of the testing performed, <br />provides logs of borings in TxDOT's Wincor format and includes a Project layout. <br />The Engineer will prepare this report in accordance with TxDOT standards and will <br />provide geotechnical engineering recommendations to address the following: <br />a) Site, subgrade, and fill preparation; <br />b) Pavement guidelines; <br />c) Drilled shaft foundation design and construction for bridge structures; and <br />d) Foundation design and construction for retaining walls. <br />1.3 TASK 3 — SOCIAL, ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES AND <br />PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT (TxDOT Function Code 120) <br />The Engineer will: <br />1.3.1 Environmental Document. Prepare an Environmental Assessment ( "EA ") in accordance <br />with State and federal laws, rules, regulations, and any existing Memoranda of Understanding or <br />Agreements held by the State, to meet the National Environmental Policy Act requirements for <br />this Project. The following addresses regulatory compliance concerns for the project, as outlined <br />in a typical EA document to include and be organized as follows: <br />1) Introduction — Discussion of previous projects adjacent to logical termini to include <br />limits, length, and the location of logical termini. <br />2) Existing Facilitv — Description of the pavement widths: overall pavement, travel lane, <br />shoulders, turn- lanes, existing right -of -way, etc. as well as the inclusion of detail on <br />cross - drainage structures, intersections etc. The document will specifically address <br />whether or not there are bridge class culverts within the Project limits. <br />3) Puroose and Need Inclusion of background data (traffic /accident, local/regional /state <br />planning) that indicate the need to improve the roadway. The document will include <br />the purpose for the proposed improvements and the need. <br />4) Alternatives Analysis — Inclusion of a statement as to how each alternative that is <br />considered would or would not meet the purpose and need for the proposed Project. <br />For this Project, the Engineer will consider one build alternative and the "no- build" <br />alternatives. <br />HDR — Loop 82 Project Agreement <br />6 <br />
