• RESOLUTION 2011- 11R
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF
A REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND
BF GOODRICH FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A FIRE PUMP;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE
AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
RECITALS:
1. Due to changes in the City's water supply system that has been provided to serve growth in
the northern portion of the City, the Butler Booster Station is no longer necessary and is being
decommissioned. This booster station, in part, provided increased water pressure and flow for
firefighting capability.
2. The decommissioning of the Butler Booster Station necessitates the building of an on -site fire
pump for the industries located on the east side of Interstate 35.
3. San Marcos citizens benefit from this cost sharing agreement since on -site fire pumps provide
necessary protection to the companies, without burdening the City's water supply, and without the
necessity for the City constructing a new booster station and supporting infrastructure.
• BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS:
PART 1. The terms and conditions of the reimbursement agreement between the City and BF
Goodrich are approved with the caveat the funds expended do not exceed $150,000 or on -half the
actual costs of the project.
PART 2. The City Manager James R. Nuse, is authorized to execute the Agreement, with the
funding limitations, on behalf of the City.
PART 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage.
ADOPTED on the 18` day of January, 2011.
Daniel Guerrero
Mayor
Attest: "
1
• Ja a Lee Pettijohn
ity Clerk
