EXHIBIT "A" <br />Project Purposes and Specifications <br />Proiect Purpose <br />The project is to remodel and expand the former family violence shelter at 1410 IH 35 N to <br />house Roxanne's House, the children's advocacy center, to assist with the investigation and <br />prosecution of local child abuse cases and to provide counseling. The building will also provide <br />space for the HCWC Center for Community Partnerships housing the volunteer program and <br />training, education program, and business center. Site development includes upgraded drainage, <br />parking, and development of a consolidated campus with the new family violence shelter and <br />future space for a day care center and transitional housing. <br />Proiect Specifications <br />• Remodel the former family violence shelter to include the children's advocacy center and <br />the Center for Community Partnerships. <br />• Add approximately 1,500 sq. ft. of new construction to the existing 6,000 sq. ft. facility. <br />• Completely remodel the structure with new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. <br />• All interior spaces will be reconfigured with new finishes, cabinetry, new windows, <br />doors, siding, and roofing. <br />New spaces will allow for: <br />• State of the art technology for recording forensic interviews of child abuse victims <br />to assist local law enforcement, prosecutors, and Child Protective Services, <br />• Capacity to conduct two forensic interviews at one time, <br />• Three play therapy rooms, <br />• Separate waiting rooms for interview and counseling clients, <br />• Facilities for on -site sexual assault exams for children, <br />• Additional training space for volunteers and interns, <br />• Additional space for personnel working to prevent violence in our community, <br />• More efficient HCWC Business Center. <br />• A new parking lot with drainage, lighting and pedestrian access is being constructed. <br />New landscaping and green space will enhance the overall project. <br />Note — the current campus will be completed with funds from other sources. The <br />Counseling and Resource Center will be expanded and Remodeled outside of the scope of this <br />project. <br />(Project Site Plan, Elevation and Floor Plan on following pages) <br />. <br />
