No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Thomaides moved for adoption of the Ordinance, and Mr. Guerrero seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of <br />an Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ZONING 7.696 ACRES, <br />MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND LOCATED ON COUNTY ROAD 266, SOUTHEAST OF <br />MCCARTY LANE AS "CC" COMMUNITY COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Guerrero moved for adoption of the Ordinance, and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of <br />Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT CONSOLIDATED PLAN FOR <br />FISCAL YEARS 2005 -2009; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT AS THE <br />OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY IN MATTERS RELATED TO THE GRANT <br />PROGRAM AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. 1) Ruben Garza encouraged the Council to continue to fund the <br />housing rehabilitation program. 2) Debbie Ingalsbe encouraged Council to <br />fund the housing rehabilitation program. She stated many citizens depend <br />on this program. 3) 011ie Giles stated if it is not broken, do not fix it. <br />She encouraged the Council to protect the neighborhoods and to continue <br />funding the housing rehabilitation. She stated give the young something to <br />do in the summer by helping the seasonal citizens to stay in their homes. <br />She asked the Council to help Southside Community Center, because they are <br />doing a great job. 4) Lee Kenyan encouraged the Council to continue funding <br />the housing rehabilitation. Mayor Narvaiz asked if anyone else wished to <br />speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Guerrero moved for adoption of Resolution, and Mr. Thomaides seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Thomaides stated he had received several letters and calls from <br />concerned citizens regarding the housing rehabilitation program. He stated <br />he was not aware that students came in the summer to provide assistances. <br />
