<br />E. Employee '8 Death. Employee's employment shall terminate on the date of her death, in <br />which event the salary and benefits owing to Employee, except life insurance, through the date <br />of death shall be paid to Employee's beneficiary. Life insurance proceeds shall be paid by the <br />insurer to the beneficiary(ies) designated by Employee. <br /> <br />Section 4: Best Efforts <br /> <br />Employee agrees to devote her best efforts, energies, and skill to the discharge of the duties and <br />responsibilities attributable to her position, and to this end, she will devote her full time and <br />attention exclusively to the business and affairs of the City during the normal working hours of <br />the City, and outside of such hours to the extent needed to fulfill her duties and responsibilities. <br />Employee agrees that she may not derive any personal advantage or gain, either directly or <br />indirectly, with respect to any business transaction in which the City engages, and that she will <br />promptly disclose in writing to the City Council all facts that are material to any such potential <br />profit or gain. <br /> <br />Section 5: Salary <br /> <br />City agrees to pay Employee for her services rendered pursuant hereto, an initial base salary of <br />$58,264 per year, payable in installments at the same time as other managerial employees of the <br />City are paid. The City Manager may recommend to the City Council changes to the <br />compensation of the Employee in connection with the City Manager's annual evaluation of the <br />Employee. The Council shall have final authority over changes to the Employee's <br />compensation. The City Council may increase the salary and/or benefits of Employee from time <br />to time, in its discretion. <br /> <br />Section 6: Supervision and Performance Evaluation <br /> <br />A. The Employee shall perform all of her duties under the supervision of the City Manager. <br />The Employee understands and agrees that she is subject to all generally applicable policies of <br />the City, and that all employees of the City Clerk's office are subject to all generally applicable <br />policies of the City. The generally applicable policies of the City include, but are not limited to, <br />employment policies, financial and purchasing policies, and ethics regulations. <br /> <br />B. The City Manager shall perform an annual evaluation of the Employee during the first <br />quarter of each city fiscal year, and shall provide a copy of the evaluation to the City Council. <br /> <br />Section 7: Outside Activities <br /> <br />Employee shall not spend more than 10 hours per week in teaching, consulting or other non- City <br />connected business. The Employee agrees that any such non-City connected business of the <br />Employee shall be subject to review and approval by the City Manager in accordance with City <br />policies on outside employment. <br /> <br />Page 3 of6 <br />
