Regular Meeting April 19, 2005 Page 2 prospect (Highway 123/IH35 area; San Marcos Area Chamber economic development prospect report) at 6:03 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council will reconvene at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council provided direction regarding two lawsuits. He stated the Council received an economic development prospect report. He stated the Council provided direction regarding an incentive for a business prospect in the Highway 123/IH35 area. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Pledge of Allegiance, which was lead by the Greater San Marcos Christian Women's Job Corps. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the 3D-Minute Citizen Comment. 1) Rick Henderson stated he would like to speak regarding item #27 during the agenda item. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Staff Report. 1) Mr. O'Leary provided the Council with an annual Comprehensive Report. He stated there were not significant finding of any problems. He also stated this report is posted on the City website. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the City Council Reports. 1) Mr. Guerrero stated he and Mr. Bose participated in the Relay for Life fundraiser. He also thanked the students for raising funds. 2) Mr. Guerrero stated he attended the Mayor's Walk on April 9, 2005. He thanked the citizens who participated. 3) Mr. Guerrero stated he attended the LEAD, where they gave away a bicycle to a well deserving citizen. 4) Mr. Guerrero thanked all the citizens who tried to dunk him in the Casa volunteer Dunking Booth fundraiser. 5) Mr. Guerrero stated he attend the EMS meeting on April 13, 2005. He thanked the City Manager of Kyle for providing funds to the EMS. 6) Mayor Narvaiz thanked the Castle Forrest neighborhood for holding the Mayor's Walk on April 9, 2005. 7) Mayor Narvaiz stated she attended the award ceremony for the Reader's Society. She gave each Council Member a copy of the book that was written this year by the Young Reader's Club. 8) Mayor Narvaiz stated she met with the SMCISD Mariachi Group. She stated this is a program which meets after school and teaches the members social skills and respect. 9) Mayor Narvaiz stated she met with the Mayor Aragon of San Pedro, Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She stated Mayor Aragon met with the Mayors of the IH35 Corridor regarding the NAFTA route. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the Regular Meeting held April 5, 2005, approval of three Ordinances on second reading, and adoption of nine Resolutions, and approval of Change Order No. 3 in the amount of $123,920.00 for the Main Lift Station Rehabilitation CIP Project to Austin Engineering Co., Inc., on consent.
