<br />66. <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />April 19, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />prospect (Highway 123/IH35 area; San Marcos Area Chamber economic <br />development prospect report) at 6:03 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council will reconvene at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff <br />on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council <br />provided direction regarding two lawsuits. He stated the Council received <br />an economic development prospect report. He stated the Council provided <br />direction regarding an incentive for a business prospect in the Highway <br />123/IH35 area. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Pledge of Allegiance, which was lead by the <br />Greater San Marcos Christian Women's Job Corps. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the 3D-Minute Citizen Comment. 1) Rick Henderson <br />stated he would like to speak regarding item #27 during the agenda item. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Staff Report. 1) Mr. O'Leary provided the <br />Council with an annual Comprehensive Report. He stated there were not <br />significant finding of any problems. He also stated this report is posted <br />on the City website. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the City Council Reports. 1) Mr. Guerrero stated <br />he and Mr. Bose participated in the Relay for Life fundraiser. He also <br />thanked the students for raising funds. 2) Mr. Guerrero stated he attended <br />the Mayor's Walk on April 9, 2005. He thanked the citizens who <br />participated. 3) Mr. Guerrero stated he attended the LEAD, where they gave <br />away a bicycle to a well deserving citizen. 4) Mr. Guerrero thanked all the <br />citizens who tried to dunk him in the Casa volunteer Dunking Booth <br />fundraiser. 5) Mr. Guerrero stated he attend the EMS meeting on April 13, <br />2005. He thanked the City Manager of Kyle for providing funds to the EMS. <br />6) Mayor Narvaiz thanked the Castle Forrest neighborhood for holding the <br />Mayor's Walk on April 9, 2005. 7) Mayor Narvaiz stated she attended the <br />award ceremony for the Reader's Society. She gave each Council Member a <br />copy of the book that was written this year by the Young Reader's Club. 8) <br />Mayor Narvaiz stated she met with the SMCISD Mariachi Group. She stated <br />this is a program which meets after school and teaches the members social <br />skills and respect. 9) Mayor Narvaiz stated she met with the Mayor Aragon <br />of San Pedro, Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She stated Mayor Aragon <br />met with the Mayors of the IH35 Corridor regarding the NAFTA route. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held April 5, 2005, approval of three Ordinances on second <br />reading, and adoption of nine Resolutions, and approval of Change Order No. <br />3 in the amount of $123,920.00 for the Main Lift Station Rehabilitation CIP <br />Project to Austin Engineering Co., Inc., on consent. The Council removed <br />Items 13, IS, 18, 19 and 21, adoption of Resolutions, to be considered <br />
