<br /> <br />188. <br /> <br />Memorandum of Understanding <br />In and between <br /> <br />The City of 8m Marcos ~ Hays Countyf Texas &. <br />Texas State University-San Marcos <br /> <br />This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of San <br />MarcO~. Hays County, and Texas State University.San Marcos has been <br />developed to promote and facilitate plar'Jning for an innovative, collaboratiVe effort <br />to provide an enVironmentally sensitive, cOrttlguous greenspace from Spring <br />Lake Hills, alOng Spring Lake and the San Marcos River, to IntefState 35. Thls <br />MOU is designed to assure that planning for this effort prooeeoa in a manner that <br />Is fully supportive of the missions of all three entities. <br /> <br />It is the Intent of thEl entities that tt1e plan developed al"ld implemented <br />protects and enhanoes the nattJral resources of Spting Lake and the San Marcos <br />River. <br /> <br />The entities agree to work cooperatively to raise new funds to acquire, for <br />passive, recreational park area, the 251 acres of the Gilmore tract in Spring Lake <br />Hills adjacent to the Texas Rivers Center propel'\Y. <br /> <br />The entities agree to work cooperatively to raise new funds to provide <br />improvements to the acquired land, as well as ImprovemeOf$ to University-ownad <br />land and City..oWned land in the proposed greenspace area. <br /> <br />TIle entities agree to coordinate effol't$ to enhance the use of the <br />contiguous greenspace by the ~n5 of Hays County a.nd the City Of San <br />Marcos and the students, faCUlty, and staff of Texas State University-San <br />Marcos. while meximizing the protection of the unique natural f$Sources of <br />Spring Lake ancUhe San Mamas River. <br /> <br />Any of the three entities may terminate its participatiOn in actiVities <br />associated with this MOU by notifying the other entitieS in wnting. <br /> <br />City of San Mar~ <br /> <br /> <br />B~~~ <br />SI,1ll8I1 Nacvaiz. .~ <br />Date: ,'~_//H/D.f';.~ <br /> <br />Texas State l1niversity-8lU1 Mareos <br /> <br />BY;~--' /L~1~~ <br />Deni:sc M; ~ l?residcnt <br />Date: --..:A a}; <br />
