<br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />June 7, 2005 <br /> <br />7. <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />EXECUTE THIS AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITYi AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 14, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />RATIFYING THE AWARD AND EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH ENVIROSOLVE, LLC, <br />FOR HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL SERVICESi RATIFYING THE <br />PURCHASING MANAGER'S EXECUTION OF THE APPROPRIATE PURCHASING DOCUMENTS <br />ON BEHALF OF THE CITYi AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Taylor moved for adoption of the Resolution, and Mr. Diaz seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Taylor inquired as to the participation from other surrounding <br />entities. Mr. O'Leary stated the bid was based on a per pound basis. He <br />stated Hays County requested participation in the event and contributed <br />$6,000.00 towards the disposal costs. Mr. Taylor stated he feels Hays <br />County should split the cost 50/50 next year. The Council then voted <br />unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 15, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND <br />GENLYTE, LLC, IN CONNECTION WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW <br />MANUFACTURING FACILITYi AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THIS <br />AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITYi AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Taylor moved for adoption of the Resolution, and Mr. Bose seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Taylor stated he feels this Capital Improvement Agreement is <br />not consistent with the City's development regulations. Mayor Narvaiz <br />stated Genlyte/Wide-Lite will create 150 new jobs. Mr. O'Leary stated <br />normally Genlyte/Wide-Lite would be required to construct sidewalks in <br />connection with the construction of the facility. He stated currently <br />there are no sidewalks on Clovis Barker Road to connect to, which created a <br />need to address the timing of Genlyte's responsibilities for creating the <br />sidewalk. He stated Genlyte will have to construct the sidewalk at the time <br />the adjacent property is developed or by June 30, 2015. The Council then <br />voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 19, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br />
