<br />38. <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />June 21, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff <br />on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council <br />discussed a tax abatement agreement and provided direction. He stated the <br />Council also discussed negotiations for an Economic Development Agreement <br />regarding IH35 South/McCarty area and provided direction for additional <br />information. He stated the Council also provided direction regarding <br />downtown property. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Pledge of Allegiance, which was lead by Little <br />Miss Fairy Princess Xochitl pedrose and Little Miss Queen Ashaina Tracey- <br />Wheeler. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the 30-Minute Citizen Comment. No speakers signed <br />up to speak during the Citizen Comment Period. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Staff Report. Mr. O'Leary stated he did not <br />have a Staff report for this meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the City Council Reports. 1) Mr. Guerrero thanked <br />the Fire Department for their help with the Sunshine Kids floating trip <br />down the San Marcos River. 2) Mr. Guerrero stated he attended his first <br />Workforce Committee meeting, subcommittee of Economic Development Council. <br />3) Mayor Narvaiz stated she attended the Conference of Mayors in Chicago, <br />Illinois. She provided the Council with a written report. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held June 7, 2005, approval of three Ordinances on second <br />reading, adoption of two Ordinances on third and final reading, adoption of <br />six Resolutions, and approval for appropriation of contingency funds in the <br />amount of $30,000.00 for emergency repairs to the Wastewater Treatment <br />Facility, on consent. Mr. Mihalkanin moved for approval of minutes of <br />the Regular Meeting held June 7, 2005, approval of three Ordinances on <br />second reading, adoption of two Ordinances on third and final reading, <br />adoption of six Resolutions, and approval for appropriation of contingency <br />funds in the amount of $30,000.00 for emergency repairs to the Wastewater <br />Treatment Facility, on consensus, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. The captions of the Ordinances and Resolutions <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Approval of Ordinances on second reading: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />REVISING AND UPDATING CHAPTER 14, BUILDINGS AND BUILDING REGULATIONS, <br />OF THE CITY CODE; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR <br />PENALTIES. <br />
