38. Regular Meeting June 21, 2005 Page 2 Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council discussed a tax abatement agreement and provided direction. He stated the Council also discussed negotiations for an Economic Development Agreement regarding IH35 South/McCarty area and provided direction for additional information. He stated the Council also provided direction regarding downtown property. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Pledge of Allegiance, which was lead by Little Miss Fairy Princess Xochitl pedrose and Little Miss Queen Ashaina Tracey- Wheeler. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the 30-Minute Citizen Comment. No speakers signed up to speak during the Citizen Comment Period. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Staff Report. Mr. O'Leary stated he did not have a Staff report for this meeting. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the City Council Reports. 1) Mr. Guerrero thanked the Fire Department for their help with the Sunshine Kids floating trip down the San Marcos River. 2) Mr. Guerrero stated he attended his first Workforce Committee meeting, subcommittee of Economic Development Council. 3) Mayor Narvaiz stated she attended the Conference of Mayors in Chicago, Illinois. She provided the Council with a written report. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the Regular Meeting held June 7, 2005, approval of three Ordinances on second reading, adoption of two Ordinances on third and final reading, adoption of six Resolutions, and approval for appropriation of contingency funds in the amount of $30,000.00 for emergency repairs to the Wastewater Treatment Facility, on consent. Mr. Mihalkanin moved for approval of minutes of the Regular Meeting held June 7, 2005, approval of three Ordinances on second reading, adoption of two Ordinances on third and final reading, adoption of six Resolutions, and approval for appropriation of contingency funds in the amount of $30,000.00 for emergency repairs to the Wastewater Treatment Facility, on consensus, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The captions of the Ordinances and Resolutions read as follows: Approval of Ordinances on second reading: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, REVISING AND UPDATING CHAPTER 14, BUILDINGS AND BUILDING REGULATIONS, OF THE CITY CODE; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES.
