Regular Meeting July 5, 2005 Page 2 Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council would reconvene at 6:41 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council discussed IH35/McCarty Lane area and provided direction. He stated the Council also discussed economic development services and provided direction. He stated the Council also provided direction regarding anInternet/advertising contract. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Pledge of Allegiance, which was lead by Parks and Recreation Department Lifeguards and the Summer Fun staff. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the 30-Minute Citizen Comment. No speakers signed up to speak during the Citizen Comment Period. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Staff Report. Mr. O'Leary stated he did not have a Staff report for this meeting. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the City Council Reports. 1) Mr. Bose stated he attended the Summerfest activities on July 4th and enjoyed all the events. 2) Mr. Guerrero thanked Parks and Recreation Department for their hard work, San Marcos Performing Arts Association and Arts Commission for the music in the park during the July 4th activities. 3) Mayor Narvaiz provided the Council with a report of her activities during June 22, 2005 to July 4, 2005. 4) Mayor Narvaiz thanked Pat Murdock, Phil Neighbors and Jimmy Johnson for their hard work with the Summerfest activities. 4} Mayor Narvaiz stated there was an incident this weekend at the San Marcos River, which lead to the arrest of Dave Newman. Mayor Narvaiz thanked everyone who was involved in the rescue. She stated she also feels when someone needs to be rescued citizens need to move aside and let those individuals who are trained in this field do their job. She stated it is unfortunate that the media seems to be focusing on the arrest instead of the heroic efforts of everyone involved. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the Regular Meeting held June 21, 2005, approval of three Ordinances on second reading, adoption of three Ordinances on third and final reading, adoption of six Resolutions, approval of Change in Service Request #1 in the amount of $30,574.33 with Dannenbaum Engineering for the Pass Through Toll Agreement, approval of expenditure from General Fund contingency in the amount of $8,697.00 to replace supplies expended during recent emergencies, and approval of expenditure from General Fund contingency in the amount of $10,000.00 to remove vegetation mats in the San Marcos River, on consent. The Council removed Items 18 and 20, adoption of Resolutions, Item 22, approval of Change in Service Request #1 in the amount of $30,574.33 with Dannenbaum Engineering for the Pass Through Toll Agreement, Item 23, approval of expenditure from General Fund contingency in the amount of
