90. MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JULY 12, 2005 PRESENT: Mayor Mayor Pro-Tern Deputy Mayor Pro-Tern Council Members Susan Narvaiz John Thomaides Bill Taylor John Diaz Daniel Guerrero Ed Mihalkanin Gaylord Bose City Manager City Clerk City Attorney Director of Finance Dan O'Leary Janis K. Womack Mark Taylor Rodney Gonzales Also Present: Jan Clark, Brad Rollins, Phil Neighbors, Shelley Goodwin and others. Mayor Narvaiz called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Narvaiz introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the Government Code, Section 551.071, to seek the City Attorney's advice regarding pending litigation, contemplated litigation, a settlement offer, or a matter involving attorney-client privilege (Hotel and Conference Center Project) ; and Section 551.087, to discuss commercial or financial information the City has received from a business prospect that the City seeks to have locate, stay or expand in or near the City and with which the City is conducting economic development negotiations, or to deliberate the offer of a financial or other incentive to such a business prospect (Hotel and Conference Center Project). The Council adjourned into Executive Session at 12:07 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council would reconvene at 1:16 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated Pete Broderick, Outside Counsel, provided the Council with terms to be negotiated regarding the Hotel and Conference Center Project. He stated the Council provided direction for the negotiations of the Hotel and Conference Center Project.
