Congress Avenue <br />Austin, Texas 78711 <br /> <br />RB: City of San Marcos <br />Application for Funding Assistance <br />TWDB Flood Protection Planning Program <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Ward: <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos is pleased to present this application for grant funding assistance under <br />the Texas Water Development Board Flood Protection Planning Grant Program. Attached, please <br />find 10 copies of the application and supporting do<:umentation. <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos is resolved to undertake a comprehensive view of its flooding risk, and <br />implement a series of solutions that provide the most effective and sustainable approach to <br />mitigating this risk to public health and safety. <br /> <br />The planning area will include the Blanco River watershed, the Willow Springs Creek watershed, <br />the Purgatory Creek watershed, the Cottonwood Creek watershed, the Bypass Creek watershe~ <br />the Sessom Creek tributary of tile San Marcos River, and the Schulte Canyon tributary of Sink <br />Creek. These watersheds lie mostly within the corporate jurisdiction of the City of San Marcos <br />and its ETJ, but also within some areas of Hays County. <br /> <br />The City is pleased to have the participation and technical partnership support of Hays County, <br />GBRA, EAA and the Upper San Marcos Watershed District. <br /> <br />On behalf of the project tea:m, I sincerely thank you for the opportunity to submit this application. <br />If you have any questions or conunents. please feel free to contact me at any time.
