Main St 2nd Floor <br />Loc~ TX 78644 <br /> <br />CERTIFIED MAll.. <br /> <br />RE: Notification of Filing Application for TWDB Flood Protection Planning Grant <br /> <br />Dear Judge Wright. <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos is filing an application for grant assistance with the Texas Water <br />Development Board. I will be the contact person for the City, Laurie Anderson, P .E. <br /> <br />The planning area includes the watersheds of the following tributaries of the Blanco River, most <br />of which lies within the City of San Marcos and its ETJ. A map of the plamring area is enclosed. <br />These watersheds are as follows: <br /> <br />Cottonwood Creek <br />Willow Springs Creek <br />Purgatory Creek <br />Sink Creek <br />Bypass Creek <br />San Marcos River (Sessom Creek) <br />Blanco River <br /> <br />The pmpose of the proposed planning is to evaluate these watersheds on a comprehensive basis to <br />determine current levels of service for flood protection and develop alternatives for future flood <br />protection. A combination of structural and non-structural control methods will be evaluated. <br /> <br />As described in the grant program guidelines, any comments regarding the proposed planning <br />must be filed with the City of San Marcos and the Texas Water Development Board within 30 <br />days of the date of this notice.
