<br />(b) Upon receipt of a permit, the contractor may start the proposed job and perform the work described <br />in the application, requesting inspections by the building official in the proper sequence as the work <br />progresses. <br /> <br />(c) If the contractor holding a permit dies or becomes unable to supervise the pemritted work, all work <br />under the permit shall cease immediately, and work shall not be reslUIled until the contractor's <br />disability is remedied or a new permit is issued to a qualified contractor. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.454. Permit cancellation. <br /> <br />( a) When the holder of a permit issued under this division fails or refuses to complete work, in whole <br />or in part, the building owner, the owner's general contractor, or the person in charge of the <br />construction on behalf of the owner may submit a written request to the building official the <br />cancellation of the original permit to allow another licensed contractor to secure a permit to complete <br />the work. <br /> <br />(b) Upon receipt of a request for cancellation in accordance with section (a), the building official will <br />cancel the permit, and will notify the previous permit holder in writing of the cancellation of the <br />permit. <br /> <br />(c) Fees paid by the original permit holder will not be refunded or credited toward the cost of the <br />subsequent permit. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.455. Inspections. <br /> <br />(a) The building inspector will make inspections of all work and will enforce all sections of this article <br />by entering any building or premises at reasonable times, after presentation of proper credentials to the <br />owner or other person in control of the building or premises. <br /> <br />(b) Where work is in a dangerous or unsafe condition, the building inspector will instruct the permit <br />holder to remedy the situation. <br /> <br />(c) The permit holder shall schedule inspections before the day the inspection is desired. The <br />inspection will be made as soon as practical. <br /> <br />(d) No work for which a visual inspection is needed may be concealed in any manner from access or <br />sight until it has been inspected and approved by the building inspector. <br /> <br />(e) If the work fails to meet the requirements of this article, the permit holder will be notified at the <br />jobsite by the building inspector of the deficiencies. If the deficiencies are not corrected within 10 <br />working days from date of written notification, the building official will refuse to issue any further <br />permits for that jobsite until the defective work is corrected and approved in accordance with this <br />article. <br /> <br />(f) The building inspection division will keep a written log of passed and failed inspections. <br /> <br />(g) This section does not preclude the use of any other remedies provided by law. <br /> <br />37 <br />
