<br />161 . <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2005 - 1 57 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO <br />THE STATE OF TEXAS, OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL CRIME <br />VICTIM SERVICES DIVISION FOR A VICTIM COORDINATOR AND <br />LIAISON GRANT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE <br />CITY'S BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE APPLICATION AND TO <br />EXECUTE ALL CONTRACTS AND OTHER RELATED DOCUMENTS WITH <br />THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AS NECESSARY AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City of San Marcos Police Department wishes to establish a Crime Victim <br />Services Unit to address the needs of crime victims in the San Marcos community. <br /> <br />2. The State of Texas, Office of the Attorney General (the "OAG") has available <br />grant funds through its Crime Victim Services Division for the establishment of crime victim <br />services programs. <br /> <br />3. The City will not use the existence of an OAG grant award to offset or <br />decrease total salaries, expenses, and allowances that the Police Department receives <br />from the City at or after the time the grant is awarded. <br /> <br />4. In the event of loss or misuse of OAG funds, the City assures that the funds <br />will be returned to the OAG in full. <br /> <br />RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The City ratifies the submission of a Crime Victim Coordinator and <br />Liaison Grant to the OAG. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to act on the City's <br />behalf with regard to the submission of the application and to execute all contracts and <br />other related documents with the OAG as necessary. <br /> <br />PART 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and <br />after its passage. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this the 18th day of October <br /> <br />,2005 <br />
