<br />67. <br /> <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />SEWER SURCHARGE RATE <br />(SURCHARGE P ARTICIP ANT LIST CUSTOMERS) <br /> <br />EXHIBIT C PAGE 1 OF 1 <br /> <br />Applicable: <br /> <br />To any nondomestic customer of the City of San Marcos sanitary sewer system that has higher levels of <br />pollutants in their sewage waste than those contained in normal domestic waste and placed on the <br />surcharge participant list. A customer on the surcharge participant list will have a sewer surcharge added to <br />their monthly sewer bill. <br /> <br />Surcharge Rate: <br /> <br />COD Concentration (Milligram per Liter) <br />351 to 500 - $0.08 per pound. <br />501 to 600 - $0.14 per pound. <br />Over 600 - $0.28 per pound. <br /> <br />The rate is not incremental: The COD reading will determine the surcharge rate for a customer's entire <br />discharge. <br /> <br />Surcharge Computation: <br /> <br />S = V * 8.34 * (COD-350) * Surcharge Rate <br /> <br />Definitions: <br /> <br />S - Surcharge in dollars that will appear on the monthly billing to customer. <br />V - Volume of monthly water usage in millions of gallons based upon the most recent twelve months <br />average, or a minimum of six months average for new customers. <br />8.34 - Weight in pounds ofa gallon of water. <br />COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand - A measure of wastewater quality in milligrams per liter. <br />350 - Threshold level of COD for sewer surcharge. <br />
