<br />SAN MARCOS ELECTRIC UTILITY <br />ELECTRIC RATE SCHEDULES <br /> <br />DEPOSITS <br />Rate Schedule - Deposits <br /> <br />~,fective: October 1, 2005 <br /> <br />DEPOSITS NOT TRANSFERABLE <br /> <br />Deposits are non-transferable and will be refunded and/or applied to the customer's final bill upon the disconnection and <br />termination of service. <br /> <br />RECORDS OF DEPOSITS <br /> <br />The City shall keep records of customer deposits that provide: <br /> <br />(a) the name and address of each depositor; and <br /> <br />(b) the amount of the deposit and the date the deposit was made by the customer. <br /> <br />The City shall issue a receipt of deposit to each applicant from which a deposit is received, and shall provide means <br />whereby a depositor may establish a claim if the receipt is lost. A record of each unclaimed deposit will be maintained by <br />the City for at least 4 years, during which time the City shall make a reasonable effort to return the deposit pursuant to the <br />REFUND OF DEPOSIT provision of this rate schedule. <br /> <br />REFUND OF DEPOSIT <br /> <br />service is not connected or after disconnection of service, the City shall promptly and automatically refund the <br />lstomer's deposit in excess of any amount credited to the customer's unpaid bills for services furnished. <br /> <br />When a customer has had no late payments for 12 consecutive months or less than 2 late payments during the last 24 <br />consecutive months, the City shall, at the customer's request, refund the deposit to the customer in the form of cash or a <br />credit to the customer's bill, or by returning the letter of credit, if a letter of credit was posted by the customer. <br /> <br />Page 31 <br />
