The remaining appointment will be rescheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on <br />emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE 2005-2006 CITY BUDGET TO PROVIDE FOR A CRIME VICTIM <br />SERVICES GRANT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency, and Mr. <br />Guerrero seconded the motion. Mr. O'Leary stated the San Marcos Police <br />Department has received a grant from the Attorney General of Texas in the <br />amount of $39,000.00 for funding a Victim Services Coordinator position. <br />He stated this budget amendment recognizes the grant revenue that will come <br />from the Attorney General's Office and the expense associated with the <br />grant. He also stated this grant is a one-year grant. The Council then <br />voted unanimously for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on <br />emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE 2005-2006 CITY BUDGET TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE SAN <br />MARCOS NATURE CENTER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency, and Mr. <br />Guerrero seconded the motion. Mr. O'Leary stated the Eleanor Crook <br />Foundation has pledged $10,000.00 for the next two fiscal years to help <br />fund a full-time staff position at the Nature Center. He stated Staff is <br />requesting City Council amend the FY 2006 Budget to recognize the <br />$10,000.00 contribution and to establish personnel expense line items for <br />the Staff position.
