Figure 2.2 shows the <br />area's highest I-hour ozone levels for the period 1974 through 2001. The I-hour ozone <br />standard was exceeded in 1974, 1976, 1979, 1980, and 1985. The I-hour ozone standard <br />has not been exceeded in the NSM MSA since 1985. Figure 2.3 illustrates I-hour ozone <br />design value trends since 1978. <br /> <br />Figure 2.4 shows the four highest ozone measurements using 8-hour averaging for 1998, <br />1999,2000, and 2001. Based on a rolling 3-year average of the fourth highest readings, <br />the NSM MSA violated EPA's 8-hour standard in 1999,2000, and 2001. Eight-hour <br />design value trends since 1980 are shown in Figure 2.5. <br /> <br />9 <br />
