<br />144. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2002 - 38 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION <br />TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("TXDOT") FOR <br />A FY 2002 FEDERAL NON-PRIMARY ENTITLEMENT GRANT; <br />APPROVING THE CITY'S EXPENDITURE OF LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S <br />BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE SUBMISSION OF THIS APPLICATION <br />AND ALL CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS WITH TXDOT AND SUCH <br />OTHER PARTIES AS SHALL BE NECESSARY AND APPROPRIATE FOR <br />THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SAN <br />MARCOS MUNICIPALAIRPORT AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City of San Marcos (the "City") intends to make certain improvements <br />to the San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br /> <br />2. The general description of the project is for the continuation of upgrades to <br />the airport signage and to accomplish other associated airport improvements as a <br />prerequisite to achieveng 14 CFR Part 139 Airport Certification to accommodate larger <br />aircraft. <br /> <br />3. The City is currently eligible for federal non-primary entitlement of up to <br />$150,000.00 with the total project cost estimated to be $150,000.00. <br /> <br />4. The City has available and will provide at least 10% of the project costs with <br />local funds and understands that the above mentioned entitlement funds cannot be <br />increased. <br /> <br />5. The City names the Texas Department of Transportation as its agent for the <br />purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements and <br />for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of these <br />improvements. <br /> <br />RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The City hereby requests federal non-primary entitlement funds from <br />TXDoT for improvements to the San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City's expenditure of approximately $16,667.00 in local matching <br />funds is approved. <br /> <br />PART 3. The City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is authorized to execute on behalf <br />of the City, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of the City <br />
