<br />from a reciprocating jurisdiction under section 14.378 and five years or more experience in any of the <br />above construction types or a combination thereof, as a job foreman, job superintendent, or project <br />manager in the commercial building industry. <br /> <br />(c) Construction maintenance person. This designation applies to maintenance of existing buildings <br />or structures. A person applying for a construction maintenance person license shall pass the required <br />examination for this license. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.374. Application for examination. <br /> <br />(a) Applications for license examinations under this division will be made on a form furnished by the <br />building official. The application shall specify the applicant's experience and shall state whether the <br />applicant has ever been licensed as a contractor and, if so, when and by what jurisdiction; whether a <br />license held by the applicant has ever been suspended or revoked; and whether the applicant has ever <br />been refused a license and, if so, the date of and the reason for suspension, revocation or refusal. <br /> <br />(b) To determine whether the applicant is eligible to take the examination, the building official will <br />review each application to determine whether the applicant meets the qualifications described in <br />section 14.373. An applicant who is denied eligibility by the building official may submit a written <br />appeal to the construction board of adjustments and appeals. The board will hold a hearing and will <br />make a final decision on the applicant's eligibility. <br /> <br />(c) An examination will be given to the applicant at the next regularly scheduled testing date. Tests <br />will be offered not less than four times per year. A passing grade of 70% is required. If an applicant <br />is unsuccessful in a second exmnination attempt, the applicant will not be reexmnined for a period of <br />one year from the date of the second testing. No applicant will be tested more than two times in any <br />l2-month period. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.375. Examination fees. <br /> <br />Payment of an examination fee is required each time a contractor applies for a license. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.376. Examination. <br /> <br />The construction board of adjustments and appeals, working in conjunction with the city staff, may <br />provide for testing of candidates for contractor's licenses through the use of SBCCI or ICC tests. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.377. Issuance, renewal of license. <br /> <br />(a) Upon receiving a passing grade on the examination for a license under this division, the building <br />official will issue a license to the successful candidate. <br /> <br />(b) No license will be issued for more than one year. A license may be renewed from year to year upon <br />application of the holder. All licenses issued under this division expire on the last day of December. <br /> <br />(c) Any licensee failing to make application for renewal of a license within 60 days after its expiration <br />is considered as an applicant for an original license.
