A permit fee may be wholly or partially waived
in a written development incentive agreement with the city.

(d) The building official may require that a plan review fee be paid by a permit applicant at the time
an application is submitted. The payment of the plan review fee will not be deemed to constitute the
filing of the application, and the application will not be considered to be filed with the building
inspection division unless and until the application is verified to be complete and the full amount of
the permit fee is paid.

(e) If the scope of work is increased during the construction period relative to the work authorized to
be done under the permit, the permit holder shall file an amended permit application and pay
additional fees that are assessed based on the increase in scope prior to beginning any work not
covered by the original permit.

(f) A minimum permit fee may be charged.

Sec. 14.603. Issuance of permit.

(a) Only one permit required under this division will be issued for anyone installation of electrical
equipment or other work covered by this article.

(b) Upon receipt of a permit, the electrician may start the proposed job and make the installation
described in the application, requesting inspections by the electrical inspector in the proper sequence
as the work progresses.

(c) If the death or other inability of the responsible master electrician holding the permit to supervise
work under the permit occurs:

(1) The work under the permit may be continued for a period not to exceed six months if
another master electrician is already working on the project or the lead journeyman on the project
assumes responsibility for the completion of the work in accordance with approved electrical plans
and the requirements of the electrical code; or

(2) All work shall cease immediately if no other licensed master electrician or journeymall is
working on the project prior to the death or other inability of the permit holder. In this case a new
permit may be issued to another master electrician upon the request of the project owner and upon
approval of the board.

(d) When two or more master electricians are working on the same job, the supervision, direction and
control of the work will be the responsibility of the person to whom the permit was issued.

Sec. 14.604. Emergencies.

Where electrical equipment replacements and repairs must be performed in an emergency situation
to restore power to an occupied building, the emergency repairs may be performed without a pelmit.
However, the electrician performing the work shall submit a permit application for the work on the
next business day.

C:\TEMP\bldg code 2-13-02 inc.doc

41
