On February 12, 2002, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of <br />San Marcos held a public hearing regarding a request to change the zoning from "R-l" <br />Single-Family Dwelling District (Low Density) and "TH-2" Townhouse Residential <br />District (Medium Density) to "P" Public & Institutional District for a 20.95 acre, more or <br />less, tract of property located between the 1 00 and 200 Blocks of Ridgewood Drive and <br />the 100 Block of East Sierra Circle. <br /> <br />2. Subsequent to the public hearing on that date, the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission did, on February 12,2002 consider and vote to approve the request, and has <br />recommended that the request be approved by the City Council of the City. <br /> <br />3. The City Council held a public hearing on the 8 th <br />Ap r i 1 , 2002, regarding the request. <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />4. All requirements of Chapter 114, Zoning, of the San Marcos City Code <br />pertaining to zoning map amendments have been met. <br /> <br />5. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the adoption of the <br />following ordinance is in the interest of the public health, morals, welfare and safety. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The Official Zoning Map of the City, as described in Section <br />114.029 of the San Marcos City Code, is amended to rezone the following real property <br />which is presently zoned ""R-l" Single-Family Dwelling District (Low Density) and <br />"TH-2" Townhouse Residential District (Medium Density) to "P" Public and Institutional <br />District: <br />
