<br />129. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2002- 77 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS RATIFYING THE EMERGENCY PROCUREMENT OF TRAFFIC <br />CONTROL DEVICES FROM PATHMARK TRAFFIC PRODUCTS OF <br />TEXAS, INC.; AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING MANAGER TO <br />EXECUTE APPROPRIATE PURCHASING DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The !lew downtown parade route plan along State right-of-way requires <br />Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) approval and the installation of traffic control <br />devices in accordance with the latest Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Code (MUTDC). <br /> <br />2. The City recently received approval of the plan from TxDOT. <br /> <br />3. It was necessary to procure these traffic control devices on an emergency <br />basis, without formal competitive bidding in order to accommodate the first parade which <br />is to take place on April 27, 2002 in order to preserve and protect the public health and <br />safety of the City's residents. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The emergency procurement of traffic control devices from Pathmark <br />Traffic Products of Texas, Inc. in the total amount of $25,070.00 is ratified. <br /> <br />PART 2. The Purchasing Manager, Cheryl Pantermuehl, is authorized to <br />execute appropriate purchasing documents on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 3.
