<br />26. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002-~J_R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO <br />THE CITY'S CONTRACT WITH HAYS COUNTY FOR TAX <br />ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION SERVICES; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City and Hays County (the "County") executed an agreement dated September 11, <br />1990 (the "Agreement") for the assessment and collection of City property taxes by the County. <br />The Agreement provides for the County to select the law firm that collects delinquent taxes. <br /> <br />2. The City and the County desire to amend the Agreement to allow the City to select its <br />own law firm for the collection of delinquent taxes. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />P ART 1. The attached amendment to the Agreement is approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is authorized to execute the amendment on <br />behalf of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />PART 3.
