<br />53. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2002- <br /> <br />107 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS RATIFYING THE EMERGENCY PROCUREMENT OF AN <br />UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM; AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASING MANAGER TO EXECUTE APPROPRIATE PURCHASING <br />DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. On April 7, 2002 the voltage regulator/transformer shorted out and created <br />an electrical spike which caused the City's network to be down for three days. <br /> <br />2. The purchase of an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) without competitive <br />bidding was necessary due to the unforeseen damage to public machinery, equipment, or <br />other property and was the only way to proved necessary conditioned power to the <br />computer room. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The emergency procurement of an UPS from Powerware Corporation <br />in the total amount of $36,994.00 is ratified. <br /> <br />PART 2. The Purchasing Manager, Cheryl Pantermuehl, is authorized to <br />execute appropriate purchasing documents on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 3.
