<br />Project Work Plan <br /> <br />Task 1 - Review Project Management Approach <br /> <br />The Consultant will meet with the City Council and others as appropriate to discuss the Consultant's <br />approach to management of the Project. The discussion will include a review of the work plan, con- <br />firmation of timing, and communication methods. <br /> <br />Task 2 - Develop Candidate Profile <br /> <br />The candidate profile for the City Manager is the guide for the entire search process. The Consultant will <br />develop the candidate profile as described in this Task. <br /> <br />Technical Information <br /> <br />The Consultant will meet with the City Council and key staff as may be necessary. The purpose of <br />these meetings is to gain an understanding of the experience and professional background <br />requirements desired in the City Manager. These meetings will also help the Consultant gain an <br />understanding of the work environment and the issues facing the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />Recruitment Criteria <br /> <br />The recruitment criteria are those personal and professional characteristics and experiences desired <br />by the City Council in the City Manager. These criteria should reflect the goals and priorities of <br />the City of San Marcos. The Consultant will meet with elected officials, key staff in the City, and <br />others as appropriate, to facilitate the identification and articulation of these criteria. <br /> <br />The Consultant will act as facilitator at a public meeting held to seek input from the City's citizens <br />regarding the candidate profile. <br /> <br />The Consultant will provide a draft of the candidate profile for review and approval by the City <br />Council, and will meet with the Council to finalize the profile. Subsequent to the approval of the <br />candidate profile, the Consultant will prepare a recruitment brochure based on the candidate <br />profile. The Consultant will provide a draft of the brochure for review and approval by the City <br />Council, and the Consultant will publish and use the brochure, as approved, throughout the <br />Project. <br /> <br />Task 3 - Outreach and Recruiting <br /> <br />This task is among the most important of the entire Project. It is the focus of the actIVItIes of the <br />Consultant and includes specific outreach and recruiting activities briefly described below. <br /> <br />Outreach <br /> <br />The Consultant will develop an accelerated outreach and advertising campaign, including the <br />placement of ads in publications such as the Texas Municipal League Classified Ads, Jobs <br />
