<br />78. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002-176R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, NOMINATING A CANDIDATE AND SEEKING <br />THE RECOMMENDATION BY THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE <br />FOR ELECTION TO THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES BOARD <br />OF DIRECTORS; NOMINATING CANDIDATES FOR APPOINTMENT <br />TO COMMITTEES OF THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. It is in the interest and welfare of the citizens of the City of San Marcos, Texas, to have <br />direct representation before the National League of Cities through the membership by a City Council <br />Member on the Board of Directors and Committees of the National League of Cities. <br /> <br />2. The City Council wishes to nominate persons to serve on the Board of Directors and <br />on committees of the National League of Cities. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The following City Council Member is nominated as candidate for election to the National <br />League of Cities Board of Directors, and the endorsement ofthis candidate by the Texas Municipal League <br />for election to the National League of Cities Board is hereby sought: <br /> <br />Jacob Montoya <br /> <br />PART 2. The following City Council Member is nominated for appointment to the following <br />committee ofthe National League of Cities: <br /> <br />Council Member <br />Paul Mayhew <br /> <br />Committee <br />Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Steering <br /> <br />PART 3. A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Texas Municipal League in order that <br />it be received on or before September 25,2002. <br /> <br />PART 4.
