Present marketing materials to regional allies such as: utilities, real estate brokers, site <br />consultants, Greater Austin-San Antonio Corridor Council and Texas Department <br />of Economic Development. <br />2. Participate in Texas Economic Development Council meetings. <br />3. Serve on the Central Texas Foreign Trade Zone Board of Directors. <br />4. Attend regular meetings and participate in marketing trips of the Greater Austin-San <br />Antonio Corridor Council's economic development committee. <br />5. Annually evaluate targeted industry clusters. <br />6. Place ads in targeted publications. <br />7. Coordinate a direct mail campaign. <br />8. Update the Community Profile twice annually. <br />9. Maintain the Community Fact Book and Web page. <br />10. Participate in Industry specific trade shows, as needed. <br />11. Coordinate a community image campaign including but not limited to the City, <br />County, Chamber's of Commerce, and the Convention and Visitors Bureau. <br />Goal No.3: Facilitate government agency support for primary employers <br /> <br />Strategy: <br /> <br />Coordinate and present an appropriate expectation of the type and value of <br />incentives that are available in San Marcos. <br /> <br />Actions: <br />1. Meet monthly with the City Development Process team. <br />2. Update the City Council and County Commissioners monthly on potential new <br />developments and present a report annually. <br />3. Work with the State and Federal agencies such as the Texas Workforce Commission, <br />Texas Department of Economic Development, Economic Development <br />Administration, and Small Business Administration on available programs. <br />4. Maintain a relationship with the educational institutions on workforce training <br />opportunities. <br />5. Work with taxing entities on reviewing guidelines for tax abatements and valuation <br />caps. <br /> <br />Page 2 <br />
