<br />169. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2002- 1 q6 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, RATIFYINGAGRANT APPLICATION TO THE BUREAU <br />OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE FOR A LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK <br />GRANT; APPROVING A GRANT CONTRACT WITH THE BUREAU OF <br />JUSTICE ASSISTANCE FOR A LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK <br />GRANT; APPROVING THE CONTRIBUTION OF MATCHING FUNDS BY <br />THE CITY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL <br />GRANT RELATED DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City applied for grant assistance from the Bureau of Justice Assistance <br />(BJA) for FY 2002 for the Police Department. <br /> <br />2 The City has received notification that the BJA has approved a Local Law <br />Enforcement Block Grant ("LLEBG") for FY 2002. <br /> <br />3. The City wishes to accept the grant from the BJA in the amount of <br />$30,015.00 for the Police Department. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The Police Department's submission of a LLEBG application for FY <br />2002 to the BJA is ratified. <br /> <br />PART 2. The attached BJA FY 2002 LLEBG grant documents for the Police <br />Department are approved and accepted. <br /> <br />PART 3. <br /> <br />The City's match of $3,335.00 in local funds is approved. <br /> <br />PART 4. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute all grant <br />related documents on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 5. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and <br />after its passage. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this the 28Uday of October 2002. <br /> <br />l41f 8. ~ <br /> <br />Robert B.
